True Detective: Night Country: Part 1 (2024)
Buffalo Bill is now Polar Bear Bob
This is not True Defective telling a realistic true crime story like I'm used to with this series which is why the negative reviews I suspect. This definitely wasn't what I was expecting but I like the premise and the story with a Stephen King supernatural twist to it. Luckily I'm a big Stephen King fan with the supernatural element this season so I will keep watching it for sure. I'm just waiting for the polar bear to tell Jodie Foster's character to "put the lotion in the snow basket". I could do without all the girl power narrative but with all the crap Hollywood continues to produce at least there's a show to watch.
Father of the Bride (2022)
Pure Emasculation
Cute movie with funny parts. Same old Hollywood Woke messaging though. Men are buffoons and women are superior. This was obviously written by Woke white people that didn't do their research on Latin culture and weddings.
Star Trek: Picard: Hide and Seek (2022)
Capt Picard to the London Bridge Falling Down!
I'm not sure what I'm watching anymore. Gene would be rolling over in his grave. As a life long Trekker of all the series except this one and Discovery. These new writers have lost what Star Trek really is. SMH.
The Batman (2022)
Batman is not Woke
Overall good movie. I like the human vulnerability of Batman most of all. Hollywood still tried to insert their typical Woke political agenda that white people and the police are bad but it ultimately fails to work out that way in the end but nice try lol. Gotham is a fictitious city with a fictitious super hero. This one had a hint of the first Batman movie by Tim Burton imo.
DMZ (2022)
Escape from Sax 5th Ave in New York
For being a DMZ kill zone, buildings destroyed and no running water everyone is dressed to the nines with $500 sunglasses that aren't even scratched , fresh makeup and food trucks. None of it fits the premise of this story and not realistic at all. Not even close. Another flop by HBO.
Star Trek: Discovery (2017)
The San Francisco Space Chronicles
Man this season flew off the rails and stayed there. Barely watchable. Space battles, getting shot at and the crew has these permanent perma smiles...smh. Captain Picard to the bridge!
The Harder They Fall (2021)
Dark comedy meets Black Tarantino
Average movie and mildly entertaining. These outlaws actually existed in history so wish the music and dialog between characters fit the time. That would've driven my rating higher. Felt more like Compton meets the Old West directed by a black Quinton Tarantino from another dimension.
F9 (2021)
Street racers turn Avengers
None stop action with lots of star power in an unrealistic movie. Def not a rewatch like most of the other Fast movies.
Wrong Turn (2021)
Whoa!
You know it's bad when you starting rooting for the mountain folk lol.
The Good Lord Bird (2020)
Great story that needs told
I was expecting something a little different like a realistic account of history.....This came across like a dark comedy instead of a true drama about a big turning point in American history with abolishing slavery. John Brown's life deserved better representation than this. Hollywood blows it again..imagine that......
Just Mercy (2019)
The story gets a 10...the acting not so much.
This story deserved a better portrayal than it got. It was rushed and the character dialog felt really forced. I love MB Jordan but not in this role. Need a more Denzel like dude to pull this off
The Conners (2018)
Living in the edge
Without Donald Trump as president this show dies. Enjoy another year. And 4 more if the unthinkable happens again...
Goliath (2016)
What happened?
Season 3 caught me totally off guard In the first couple ephs. A hint of Native American spiritualism and Stephen King with Dennis Quaid after smoking a hallucinogenic then singing to a crowded theater of himselfies. What happened to this show being a realistic criminal investigation type. I'll skip season 3 and hope for a better Season 4 if it makes it.
Game of Thrones: The Bells (2019)
Why so serious?
Dany became her father's daughter and lived up to her Targaryen name. If you go back thru her history on the show and the Targaryen family this was bound to happen. The writers came pretty close Up until season 8 she hadn't suffered any real loss in her war to win back the throne. Season 8 was obviously enough loss to make her go mad and burn the city...just like her father would've done.
Shameless: Mo White! (2018)
Really?
I wish Hollywood would recognize viewers don't want another show with the current divisive political issues intertwined into the plot. Stay out of politics and stick to entertaining or I'm turning the channel.
Goliath: Tongue Tied (2018)
What?
Did a writer strike happen with the last episode? Great season uo until the last 2
