Rambo: First Blood Part II (1985)
Patriotic and fun
Since First Blood, Rambo's 2nd film takes him to even more superhuman levels. First Blood Part II is colorful and flamboyant, but equally entertaining. His accomplishments are comic and fantastic. Even with it's lack of realism the film's charm endures. It's a movie with heart that even it's cheese will inspire cheers. Additionally, it addresses some worthwhile issues. Worth the 2 hours.
Quantum Leap: The Boogieman - October 31, 1964 (1990)
Best QL ever.
Great job Chris and Joe for writing and directing my favorite episode of Quantum Leap. I just saw it for the millionth time last night. I've watched it every October since it aired. First on a VHS recording, then a DVD, now streaming on netflix. I still love it. Unfortunately, I know what they're going to say before they say it every time I watch it now. One of my few remaining rituals every year. I work in TV now, and don't have time to watch TV much anymore. There's so many little things in this episode. It must have been a labor of love.
Worth seeing for sure, if you haven't.

Mad Movies with the L.A. Connection (1985)
why can't they just release it?
I remember this show from when I was little.
I loved it. My brother and I used to stay up late to watch it.
Although, I'm sure the new ones will be funny, I would like to see the original, clean 80's ones again.

Trial: The Price of Passion (1992)
Well Done
I enjoyed what I saw. Soon after a revealing plot point from Beverly De Angelo, the power went out in my house. I think the characters are interesting and the drama is compelling. All of the cast contributed. There must have been something special about this TV movie for me to be upset that I didn't get to see how it finished out. Great performances and writing. Above average television movie. I hope I can see how it ends some day. I enjoyed what I saw. Soon after a revealing plot point from Beverly De Angelo, the power went out in my house.
Again to meet silly length requirements... I think the characters are interesting and the drama is compelling. All of the cast contributed. Mindwalk (1990)
Be a fly on the wall and listen to it.
A film that relies heavily on dialogue, but is ultimately fulfilling.
The director has taken the realm of film to display a table top
discussion, or more accurately a philosophical conversation between someone's most interesting and intelligent friends.
It's a movie you can imagine yourself as an eavesdropper in on one of the most engaging and interesting discussions on life.
Worth the two hours and a subject matter still topical to world problems today.
repeat for 10 line approval...

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004)
Great film
It's unheard of for me to sit down in a regal theater and sit through TV! commercials (yuck!) which cheapens the experience, then come out after watching the film without 20 things I can immediately point out wrong with the picture.
This one was different. A+ writing, A+ Acting and A+ directing. Amazing Orchestration of filmmaking, props to actors and extra props to Winslet whom I believe carried most of the film.
wow, good movie...finally. Take a hint Hollywood, it pays to be cerebral for some people, and portray emotion accurately.
If you know films, and aren't the Jerry Brockheimer type, you should see it.
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003)
ZZZZZ....huh?Oh cool!...zzzz
Bloated for the most part, with an excellent action interruption, and then a fat multi-end conclusion. This film is a flat ending to an otherwise well done trilogy.
I think only die hard JRR fans will really dig it. Plenty of those, so no worries.
Adapting novels to screenplays is difficult and it is sometimes important to keep the structure consistent with traditional cinema. I think in this case it could have used it. I think the fuzzy climax should have a quicker resolution to follow. I understand the novel also took some time to wrap up all the loose ends. For the movies we don't need a long resolution and the appearance of more than three logical places to end a film. Also, I am Shocked to realize Frodo has no real character arc compared to Sam and Strider.
Could have easily been 2 and a half hours long.
Excellent action sequences though, and a few good scenes and moments.
Worth seeing once for resolution to trilogy. Arm yourself with a DVD remote and your finger on the fast forward button.
Spider-Man (2002)
....
Sam Raimi has out done himself, this movie is almost good. Cut all the quasi-drama and rushed, yet bloated back story and you have some good action sequences. Don't worry this movie's full of enough gimmicks that will dazzle your eyes on the big screen, but in the end you'll have an empty feeling probably because you don't have a clue why the movie wasn't good.
Why does Peter Parker like Mary Jane? She's not even sexy. Perhaps the scene where her wet dress sticks to her body she comes close to being sexy.
SPOILER:First she dates the class bully, dumps him the day of graduation, then goes for his rich friend. Another selfish girl in search of money and power. That sure describes the woman I want to call wife, or lover. "hey mom she's just using me for money!"
Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999)
Meesa Thinka This Movie Sucksa
Uh-oh! Meesa have to go potty! Ugh!! I don't care if anyone does want to defend Jar Jar, he helped to ruin one of the most anticipated movies of the last twenty years. But the blame doesn't rest squarely on Jar Jar's drooping shoulders. George Lucas did a good job ruining what could have been a great continuation of a very profitable franchise. Gungans? Metachlorians? It also deviated from the hero cycle of the previous movies and the three act classical structure. Which is okay, unless you can't replace it with something better-which they didn't. I was extremely let down after years of waiting for something that should have lived up to my expectations. Oh, and don't forget to go out and buy the thirty dollar letterbox edition. It's worth every penny.
Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins (1985)
So what if the glass breaks before he hits it.
I like this movie, I like the musical score also. Remo's Anthem is cool, as well as Chuin's. The statue of liberty fight kicks major ass. Most of the actions scenes are of high caliber, it's too bad this series didn't take off, and should even be given another go in the new millenium instead of making a charlie's angels movie. Or even a outstanding television series.
Shoot to Kill (1988)
Worth seeing
One of the most under-rated action thillers of the 1980's. A bit obscure so you may have trouble finding it in a rental store if you live in smaller community. I like the screenplay, and direction very much, though they are not without their flaws. I would say the best part of this movie is the ambiguity of the identity of the killer, and the red herrings given early on. Michael Chapman's cinematography is breathtaking as always. I also enjoyed John Scott's score as well. I recommend people should see it at least once.
