Chiefs (2002)
a fair view on the facts
presents the facts that involved majour chiefs of the First Nation of America in a fair way, the mistakes, the misunderstandings etc. some of the reconstructions might look a little bit cheesy, but they are always accurate.
so far is the best series on American Indians I have ever seen.
Autoportret z kochanka (1996)
A self portrait that changes with time
I'm always amazed from the many different ways a life can be described and a story can be told. Everybody, more or less, is gone trough the changes that make you leave the teenage and push you into the adulthood; many will have these changes linked to some kind of love. The poetry of these changes often is disregarded, ignored, forgotten under the heaviness of the storm of emotions and feelings also present. Well, maybe this is what i liked of this movie: the nice mix between the storm and the poetry of the entrance into adulthood. Kuba shows himself, a changing self that has to juggle between the dreams of his youth and the reality of his adult age... and he juggles, like many of us have done or are still doing.
I ragazzi di via Panisperna (1988)
A description of facts, a story of men.
A nice portrait of the men involved in the study of the H-Bomb, the beginning of life lasting friendships amongst scientists in the middle of the century.
It's hard to find a movie that will touch such "hot" issues without loosing moderation: my feel is that this is a unique piece in its category.
Il petomane (1983)
The real story of a French man who was able to control his own farts.
This is the real story of a French guy who amazed Europe at the beginning of the 20th Century: he was able to control his farts. He went around having public shows, generating laughs and scandal. There is a nice character analysis and a different point of view of life...
