While some Netflix viewers are looking forward to seeing the second part of Bridgerton Season 3, others are already sick of these vintage romances and dramatic sighs. Nevertheless, we can’t deny that people's interest in period titles is still strong.
Imagine what if a story set more than 100 years ago would also rock it as a satirical comedy? Oh, then it would be a Comedy Central sitcom that aired from 2015 to 2018 and perfectly mocked both period dramas and today’s reality shows, so let’s take a closer look at it.
We’re talking about the show titled Another Period, and its plot revolves around the Bellacourts, Rhode Island's first family of the Gilded Age. This clan is rich in not only money, but also imagination and ideas on how to spend time doing nothing. Their days are filled with laziness, intrigues and, of course, sex.

Since the beginning of the Egghead Island arc in One Piece, each revelation made by Dr. Vegapunk may have unlocked new mysteries, but it has also introduced new questions for One Piece fans. The biggest question among all of this is why Joy Boy and the First Twenty Nations got into a battle that not only destroyed the Great Kingdom but also made it a forbidden subject.
Joy Boy Strawhat in One Piece | Toei Animation
In the latest chapters, Vegapunk not only revealed that one of the Ancient Weapons was used to destroy the Lulusia Kingdom with the help of the Mother Flame that was stolen from him, but he also talked about how Joy Boy possessed all three of the Ancient Weapons and wanted to give them to the future generations of One Piece.

The strongest viewership of Netflix’s Bridgerton proved people still rave about period titles and, in particular, intricate stories, set in the 18-19th centuries. Besides, before the success of this series, we saw such gems of the 2010s, as Mia Wasikowska’s Jane Eyre (2011), Nicole Kidman’s The Beguiled (2017) and Saoirse Ronan’s Little Women (2019).
However, there is a female-led period movie that stands out among all of them. Back in 2018, it amazed the audience by its perfect mix of black comedy elements, deep drama, impeccable acting performances and quite an authentic atmosphere and tone.
Set in the early 18th century during the long war of England against France, the movie starts by introducing us to Queen Anne, who is in poor health and isn’t interested in governing at all. The one who is really into it is Sarah Churchill, her advisor and lover.

And while Alien: Romulus is currently in focus due to a trailer coming out, its rival, the Predator franchise, is also alive and well, and we actually have some information for you about the future of that franchise as well. The most recent installment, Prey, was released on August 5, 2022, to positive reviews, and Dan Trachtenberg, who directed the movie, is currently working on another standalone movie that is scheduled to come out sometime in 2025. Badlands, as the movie is titled, will continue the franchise in a proper way, and it seems that Trachtenberg has someone in mind for the main role in the movie.
Badlands is supposedly one of many planned Predator projects, and it is supposed to serve as a standalone sequel to Prey. Trachtenberg is, for the first time in the franchise’s history, eyeing a female lead, which could change the franchise forever in a very positive way!

Elle Fanning is reportedly in talks to play the lead in Badlands, Dan Trachtenberg’s follow up to 2022’s well-received Predator film, Prey.
It looks like the next film in the Predator series may have found its lead, with reports suggesting that Elle Fanning is in negotiations to take the main role in Badlands, Dan Trachtenberg’s planned follow-up to Prey.
The story was broken by The Hollywood Reporter, which states that Fanning is in line to star, although as of yet we don’t know anything about the character she will play or the time or setting that the story takes place in (although rumours suggest that we might be headed into the future).

Trachtenberg will return to direct Badlands based on a script he co-wrote with Patrick Aison. Elle Fanning is going from great to bad. The actor known for The Great is in talks to star in Badlands, a new movie set in The Predator universe, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The Badlands is directed by Dan Trachtenberg, the filmmaker who revamped the franchise with the 20th Century and Hulu feature Prey, which was set in 1719 and starred breakout Amber Midthunder as a young Comanche woman pitted against an alien hunter. The film was a critical success and broke viewing records for Hulu.
Trachtenberg reteamed with Prey scribe Patrick Aison for the Badlands story, with Aison penning the script. THR reported in February that in addition to Badlands, 20th Century has a number of Predator projects in development, with Trachtenberg at the center of a growing universe. 20th Century had no comment.

Elle Fanning could be trading her bustle for survival gear after being in talks to join the cast of Dan Trachtenberg’s standalone Predator film Badlands. Deadline says Fanning is negotiating for the role in the highly anticipated film, which Trachtenberg is directing and co-writing with Patrick Aison.
Anticipation for Trachtenberg’s Prey follow-up is through the roof. Prey was a surprise smash hit of 2022, with Trachtenberg and star Amber Midthunder arguably delivering the best Predator movie since the 1987 classic starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. Plot details for Badlands remain a mystery, as do the film’s release plans. Prey premiered exclusively on Hulu to record numbers during the pandemic. However, 20th Century Studios is going hard in the paint with its extraterrestrial action flicks and the upcoming Alien: Romulus coming to theaters. It would not be surprising to see Badlands debuting on the silver screen alongside the Xenomorph threat.

Channel 4 has refreshed its brand identity with an emphasis on its digital and streaming platforms.
From Tuesday, Channel 4 has transitioned to become the “world’s first public service streamer,” the British television organization said in a statement.
The relaunch is intended to target younger viewers who are accustomed to watching video content across different devices and platforms, including phones, tablets, computers and streaming services.
The refresh will put a greater emphasis on “app-like” experiences across the Channel 4 brand, which will continue to include the flagship linear broadcast network and ancillary TV channels.
New features on Channel 4’s digital and streaming properties are designed to increase engagement with a growing segment of younger viewers, executives said in a statement. They cited internal research that showed nearly one million young people between the ages of 13 and 24 streamed Channel 4 content on a PC or laptop, an increase of 17 percent when compared to the prior year.

The Other Black Girl will not return.
Hulu has canceled the comedy series based on the book of the same name by Zakiya Dalila Harris after a single season, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
First put in development in April 2020 before Tara Duncan signed on to serve as president of Disney’s Bipoc-focused studio Onyx Collective, the 10-episode satirical comedy about the publishing world dropped its full season in September to impressive reviews. The series currently has an 86 percent rating among critics on Rotten Tomatoes, though audiences seem to have rejected The Other Black Girl with that score sitting at a lackluster 50 percent among viewers.
Danielle Henderson (Sorry for Your Loss) originally was set to serve as showrunner but was ultimately replaced by Jordan Reddout and Gus Hickey. Exec producers on the series included Onyx’s Duncan, Rashida Jones, Temple Hill’s Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey, Adam Fishbach and author Harris.

But in a new video, Khan reunited with Ex-wife Reena Dutta on the dance floor at their daughter’s wedding and the video is too sweet. Dutta and Khan share two children, Ira and Son, Junaid. In the video that Ira Khan shared from her wedding, we see a small glimpse of Aamir and Reena sharing a dance.
Ira posted the video to her Instagram, starting with some amusing clips from their engagement celebrations. Ira and Nupur had many friends who enjoyed physical activities, including a football game.

You know what the most important thing about a good TV show is? The ability to watch it from start to finish. And that doesn't always happen – just ask fans of The Santa Clarita Diet, The Great, or The Oa.
Sci-fi fans on Reddit have compiled their list of shows that were killed off too soon.
1.Firefly, 2002
In 2002, one of the biggest cancellations in television history occurred: Fox canceled Joss Whedon's Firefly. It's hard to describe the shock and anger of the fan community.
The fans of the series tried to contact the network executives who had made such an awful decision with all the means at their disposal: petitions, letters, phone calls, and pickets at the studio doors.
It's no wonder that more than twenty years later, Firefly remains the biggest wound in the hearts of sci-fi fans.

Shogun has skyrocketed to the top of the streaming ratings, a little over a month since its initial two-episode release, with millions of views in its first week.
This wasn't an easy feat considering the debut success of other FX or Hulu hard-hitters, such as The Bear, The Handmaid's Tale, and The Great.
Immediate comparisons to Game of Thrones were inevitable, given the show's heavy political intrigues set in 17th-century feudal Japan.
As with most popular debuts that delve heavily into cultures foreign to our own, some critics pointed to the white savior trope, drawing lines between Shogun and Dances with Wolves, The Last Samurai, and even Avatar.
Fortunately, those lines failed to meet reality.
The sympathetic, apologetic nature of the white savior plot doesn't stand up to scrutiny within Shogun's carefully constructed mimicry of real-life Japan in the 1600s.
The attention to detail is bar none, with creators...
