French new wave cinema master Eric Rohmer makes an excellent music video about coffee.
Making music videos is an essential part of the artistic lives of established directors. It gives them a chance to showcase their creative talent in a limited amount of time. German director Wim Wenders has shot many 'imaginatively intelligent' videos for Irish rock group U2. American director David Fincher made numerous music videos before embarking on a successful cinematographic career. French music video, "Bois Ton Café (Drink your coffee) marks the debut of veteran "Nouvelle Vague" director Eric Rohmer as a music video director. This is a highly artistic video which features two of his most noticeable actors Rosette and Pascal Greggory who played important roles in 1984 film "Les Nuits De La Pleine Lune". In the video,a young lady asks her boy friend to drink coffee before it turns cold. However, the song ends on a tragic note as the man drops the cold coffee in the kitchen sink.A large, cozy "Chambre De Bonne" (Maid's room) has been used as the song's shooting location. Those who are aware of French culture would not be surprised to learn that most "Chambre De Bonne" are small in size and are used to house students who have tough time finding a decent lodging in big French cities. Hence, it is a big surprise to find a huge "Chambre De Bonne" where a young couple can live comfortably, drink coffee while enjoying other essential comforts of life namely a bath tub.
