- Bruce Manning was born on July 15, 1902 in Cuddebackville, New York, USA. He was a writer and producer, known for So Goes My Love (1946), First Love (1939) and The Amazing Mrs. Holliday (1943). He died on August 3, 1965 in Encino, California, USA.
- American novelist, who worked in collaboration with his wife Gwen Bristow. He was signed as a screenwriter by RKO in 1933 on the strength of their mystery novel, "The Invisible Host" (subsequently filmed as "The Ninth Guest"). He had a lengthier stint with Universal from 1936 to 1942, by which time Manning and Bristow had settled in California on a permanent basis.
