- Other worksHe conducted the first performance of Gustav Holst's "The Planets", but omitted "Venus and Neptune" from the score. (The complete work was first performed by conductor Albert Coates). But the complete "Planets" became Boult's signature piece as a conductor, not Coates', and over the years Boult recorded it no fewer than five times. His third recording of it, for Westminster Records, was his first performance of the work in stereo. His EMI stereo recording of the work is now part of their series "Great Recordings of the Century".
- TriviaHe was made a Knight Bachelor in the 1937 King's New Year Honours List and a Companion of Honour in the 1969 Queen's New Year Honours List for his services to music.
