Gene Roddenberry’s Star Trek is considered to be an innovative movement in the television show that revolutionized the space adventure genre in the 1960s. The series featured Leonard Nimoy playing one of the most iconic characters which forever became synonymous with his name, in Mr. Spock.

Nimoy left a mark on the entire Star Trek franchise, and to think that someone else could be in the role of Mr. Spock just feels wrong. While things looked peaceful on the television, behind the scenes of the original series, things were heated between Nimoy and the series’ creator, Roddenberry.
Things often escalated so much that the two would often oppose each other on the set. As a result, their relationship strained so much that things got difficult between them, and it escalated to the point that forever severed their relationship.

Introduced in the 1967 episode Amok Time, the distinctive Vulcan salute has become deeply ingrained in Star Trek and remains iconic among fans even decades after its inception. Devised by Leonard Nimoy, who played Captain Spock in the original series, the phrase “live long and prosper” is frequently spoken alongside the iconic hand gesture.
But despite its impact on pop culture, not many might be aware of this sign’s roots, whose meaning is deeply associated with Nimoy’s experience with the Jewish culture as a kid.

Following the Vulcan species’ telepathic abilities, accompanied by a deep sense of rationality, they often refrain from using traditional means of greeting to avoid physical contact with strangers. This eventually created the room for the iconic hand gesture, which is made by separating your middle finger from the ring finger while raising your hand.

London and New York-based film sales agency The Mise En Scene Company (Msc) has diversified, securing world rights to scripted series “Driven.”
The show stars Rebecca Henderson, known for her roles in “Star Wars: The Acolyte” (Disney) and “Russian Doll” (Netflix), and Liza Colón-Zayas from “The Bear” (FX).
Produced by O Positive Films in New York and created by David Shane, represented by 3 Arts Entertainment, “Driven” centers on Theodora “Teddy” Fischer (Henderson), an Uber driver and struggling post-post-modern novelist. Teddy’s life hits rock bottom after getting fired from an animated children’s show for a controversial episode and dealing with her wife’s departure. When she contemplates suicide, a ride request from Yari Alvarez, an overly confident, deaf Puerto Rican yodeler, changes her path. The encounter leads them to Yari’s parents’ McMansion, where they face rejection from Yari’s no-nonsense mother, Reina (Colón-Zayas), and an awkward confrontation with her conflict-avoidant father,...

Patrick Stewart has played an umpteen number of iconic characters in his long career. The actor is as versatile as one can be and is unafraid to take on roles that one might not necessarily see him in. His most popular role is undoubtedly his long run as Professor X in the Marvel Universe. The actor has played the character since the 2000s and most recently in 2022’s Doctor Strange 2.

We've been sifting through Deadpool & Wolverine rumours from the moment it was first announced. Very early on, there were rumblings about it dealing with the aftermath of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and, more specifically, the Scarlet Witch's attack on Earth-838.
The movie was supposed to show us what became of that world after Wanda killed the Illuminati, with it now a "dystopian future led by a handful of individuals who were related to the deceased members of the former Illuminati."
They intended to wage war on Earth-616 with Sir Ian McKellen's Magneto said to be leading the charge; we're not sure what the idea was beyond that, but it's possible this was connected to former Avengers: The Kang Dynasty writer Jeff Loveness' plans for the now-untitled movie.

Taking on the role of Captain Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek: The Next Generation, Patrick Stewart has reprised his role in the numerous shows and movies within the franchise. Despite his longstanding tenure as Picard, Stewart once questioned if there were any new avenues to explore for the character until he was introduced to the 2022 TV series, Star Trek: Picard.

Sir Patrick Stewart is a prolific actor with decades of experience on stage and on screen. The actor is known for his role as Professor X in Fox Studios’ X-Men films. He even reprised the role as a variant in the MCU’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. However, his most noted role is Captain Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek: The Next Generation.
Stewart played the role of Captain Picard for seven seasons of the show and even reprised the role in four films. The actor then went on to return to the role years later in Star Trek: Picard. Stewart mentioned that he never got used to the international fandom the series gave him and even refused to attend Star Trek conventions back in the day.

Patrick Stewart was more popular than Hugh Jackman when Bryan Singer approached him to play Professor Charles Xavier in X-Men. For Star Trek fans, he was the famous Captain Jean-Luc Picard from The Next Generation. Singer got to meet him on the set of 1997’s Conspiracy Theory, which X-Men executive producer Richard Donner directed. However, Stewart was reluctant to take on the role for one reason.

The first teaser poster for Deadpool & Wolverine featured just the hands of Wade Wilson and Logan, with the former extending a single finger to touch one of the X-Man's claws.
Now, an IMAX one-sheet has been released which features the Merc with the Mouth pretty much holding hands with the no doubt reluctant clawed mutant. However, many fans are convinced there's more to this latest poster than meets the eye.
Yes, the fact they're wearing friendship bracelets has sent speculation into overdrive - again - about Taylor Swift possibly making an appearance in the threequel. So far, she's been rumoured to appear as Lady Deadpool, Dazzler, a female Wolverine, and herself.
Some also believe the placement of Deadpool's figures is meant to signify Swift's trademark "13," though we'd say that's perhaps reading too much into what we see here.

Few fictional characters conjure up as strong a mental image with just a mention of their name as the captains of the beloved "Star Trek" universe. Mention the word "Picard," and it's impossible not to think of Patrick Stewart's cerebral, near-Shakespearean leader, who oversaw years' worth of chaos and adventure in "Star Trek: The Next Generation" and its sequel series. The name "Captain Kirk" conjures up images of William Shatner in full hammy hero mode, sitting in his captain's chair or in the middle of the action — wearing an artfully torn uniform.
Every "Trek" captain conjures up these strong associations, but "Star Trek: Voyager" nearly ran into a problem with its captain's name when it turned out the original option was already taken. According to the book "Captains' Logs Supplemental" by Edward Gross and Mark A. Altman, which was published during that show's '90s run, Kathryn Janeway almost had a different name: Elizabeth.

Deadpool & Wolverine's marketing campaign will continue ramping up in the coming weeks and the first TV spot for the movie has found its way online today.
There's only one new scene as a drunk Logan "boops" the Merc with the Mouth during that scene in the bar. This is presumably their first meeting, and likely the moment Wade Wilson attempts to recruit a Wolverine Variant who can help him with his mission for the Tva.
While we're pretty sure that's the only fresh addition to this teaser, more snippets of footage are bound to be revealed soon. Over the weekend, Marvel Studios dropped a minute-long teaser featuring Juggernaut and Lady Deadpool.
That can be found at the bottom of this post; in the meantime, check out Deadpool & Wolverine's first TV spot below.

"Star Trek" and "scary" aren't words that are often associated with each other. After all, it's a sci-fi franchise that's more about philosophy than action. "Trek" focuses on optimism and exploration, in a world where humanity has finally put internecine conflicts aside because we realized we are only one speck of a larger universe.
On the edge of the final frontier, though, all types of stories are possible. "Star Trek: The Original Series" began with "The Man Trap," essentially a monster B-movie in space about a salt-vampire with the mouth of a lamprey. In season 2, the series concocted a whole Halloween special with "Catspaw," about two psychic aliens who have constructed a Gothic castle as a trap for the Enterprise crew.

Deadpool & Wolverine is fast approaching, and as rumours continue to swirl about the threequel's cameos, we can discount at least one thanks to the Merc with the Mouth's co-creator, Rob Liefeld.

In most cases, ignoring haters is often the best way to deal with them, as engaging in any sort of dispute ends up feeding the trolls. But Star Trek icon Michael Dorn had a unique approach when it came to dealing with two haters at a convention.
Known for playing Worf in the Star Trek franchise, the actor is notable for making the most number of appearances throughout the IP’s decades-long history than any other actors. But despite being one of the most beloved characters from the franchise, like any other thing in media, Worf isn’t immune to haters, and Dorn once had the incredible opportunity to scare two of them.

Patrick Stewart, Jonathan Frakes, and, Brent Spiner worked alongside in the iconic 1987 series Star Trek: The Next Generation. With Stewart reprising his role of Jean-Luc Picard, and Spiner and Frakes portraying William T. Raker and Data/Lore respectively, the trio had their fair share of good time on the sets.

From 1969 to (almost) the present, here’s a look back at every Star Trek finale to date. It’s fair to say the quality has varied over the years…
After seven years – making it the longest-running Star Trek series on television – Star Trek: Discovery came to a (relatively inauspicious) conclusion with ‘Life, Itself’. The episode therefore now enters a small coterie of stories – that of the Star Trek series finale.
Some of the examples below were born naturally from a lengthy series run. Others emerged as the climactic element of seasons’ worth of storytelling. Still others are sudden or bizarre aberrations that resulted from an unexpected cancellation. What bracket ‘Life, Itself’ fits under, you can be the judge. What’s apparent with all of these episodes is how varied they are, and how broad the tapestry of Star Trek really is.
Let’s take a look back:

In 2022, Paramount announced that filming on the new Star Trek movie would begin at the end of that year, with all of the main actors expected to return to work. The last film in the series was released in 2016, and due to its poor box office performance, the franchise went on hiatus.
All the while, Paramount was trying to figure out what to do next. Among other things, the studio wanted to give Quentin Tarantino a chance to make his own R-rated Star Trek film. It never went into production, but details about the movie are still emerging.
Tarantino Expressed His Desire to Make a Star Trek Movie in 2015
In late 2015, Quentin Tarantino was asked if he would make a Star Wars movie. The director said that Star Trek was closer to his heart. In his opinion, many episodes of the classic TV series can easily be expanded to fit the length of the movie.

In the second season of "Star Trek: The Next Generation," Trekkies were introduced to a memorable minor character named Ensign Sonya Gomez, played by actress Lycia Naff. Ensign Gomez first appeared in "Q Who", the first episode to feature the Borg. She conversed briefly with Geordi La Forge (LeVar Burton) about how excited she was to be serving on the U.S.S. Enterprise-d before accidentally spilling her drink on Captain Picard (Patrick Stewart). Ensign Gomez appeared again in the following episode, "Samaritan Snare", the episode to first feature the Pakled. In a fun development, Lycia Naff would return to play Gomez in an episode of "Star Trek: Lower Decks" called "First First Contact" wherein she had risen to the rank of captain.

Deadpool & Wolverine news has been a little quiet since tickets for the movie went on sale. However, thanks to the Yellow Cab Pizza Co., we have a new look at Hugh Jackman suited up as Logan. And yes, he still isn't wearing the mask!
Weirdly, that shot of Ryan Reynolds' Merc with the Mouth appears to be a promo art rather than a live-action still. It's also new, though, and a piece of imagery which nicely contrasts the different personalities of these heroes.
Two people who likely weren't eating pizzas while shooting Deadpool & Wolverine are Reynolds and Jackman.
During a recent interview, the latter revealed the biggest challenge of reprising his most iconic role. "I have to eat a lot," he explained. "For me, for my body type, I'm naturally skinny. To get the size on, that's the hardest bit. That's the bit that does my head in.

In the "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds" episode "As Astra per Aspera", Commander Chin-Riley (Rebecca Romijn) faces a court-martial for lying on her Starfleet Academy application. She claimed to be a human, but was, in fact, a genetically enhanced Illyrian. Thanks to the disastrous, long-ago Eugenics Wars, genetic tinkering is strictly verboten in the world of "Star Trek." As such, lying about your genes is a particularly grievous offense. Captain Pike (Anson Mount), wanting to help his first officer, seeks out the legal aid of Neera Ketoul (Yetide Badaki), an Illyrian defense lawyer who will be brave enough to stand up to Starfleet's prosecution. Ketoul was also a childhood friend of Chin-Riley, and they have some bad blood about the latter's need to hide here identity to join Starfleet.
Neera Ketoul is an interesting character for "Star Trek," as she has made it her job to make civil rights cases ... against the Federation.

Star Trek is one of the most significant and oldest media franchises out there. It has amassed a massive fan base over the years. However, the franchise faced a major setback in 2002 when Star Trek: Nemesis turned out to be a gigantic critical and commercial flop.

Marvel’s ‘Multiverse Saga’ is all set to end with the climactic cinematic event Avengers: Secret Wars. Even though the film is a long way ahead, the MCU has probably begun to set up the ultimate battle between the Avengers and the multiversal threat. Many antagonists such as Kang the Conqueror and Doctor Doom have been rumored to be the villains.
While the film will definitely see many of the superheroes established from the beginning of the MCU make an appearance, one group that will not be seen is the Inhumans. Debunking a rumor that the Inhumans (as seen in the series) would be appearing in the film, Black Bolt actor Anson Mount ridiculed the page that broke the news and denied his involvement.

The final episode of the third season of "Star Trek: The Next Generation" was called "The Best of Both Worlds", and it is often celebrated as one of the best episodes of the series. Notably, the episode ended on a humdinger of a cliffhanger, revealing that Captain Picard (Patrick Stewart) had been assimilated by the Borg. Trekkies had to wait until September 24 to see the conclusion.
This two-parter kicked off a long-standing "Star Trek" tradition of ending every season of every show with a notable cliffhanger. The remaining "Next Generation" seasons always left viewers with something to anticipate through the summer. There was an exception at the end of the first season of "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine," which ended on a usual note, but the show's second season opened with an unprecedented three-part episode, so it feels like it counts.

We're expecting to see some big cameos in Deadpool & Wolverine when it arrives in theaters later this summer.
However, it would be wise to keep expectations in check; after all, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness featured the likes of Professor X and Mister Fantastic but was somehow still deemed a disappointment by many fans (likely because rumours promised Spider-Man and an evil Iron Man played by Tom Cruise).
With that in mind, Deadpool & Wolverine might not be as star-studded as expected, especially with Avengers: Secret Wars on the horizon. Still, we're bound to see some characters from the X-Men franchise's past, right?
Appearing at the London premiere for Star Wars: The Acolyte earlier this week, Logan star Dafne Keen was asked whether she's "sad" not to be reprising her role as Laura in the upcoming Marvel Studios threequel.

Fans were divided on the matter since some still harbor hope that Patrick Stewart will be the MCU’s primary Charles Xavier despite him being killed during the events of ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.’
Then during a panel on Thunder Stage at Ccxp Esposito confirmed that he will be appearing in the Marvel project, but also made it clear it’s not as Professor X.
A few days ago during the Phoenix Fusion Event, Esposito revealed that his MCU role will eventually get a Disney+ series:
The MCU has knocked on my door and it’s a role you won’t predict. It will be teased and there will be a series afterwards.

When Hugh Jackman bid farewell to Wolverine in 2017's Logan, it was unclear what 20th Century Fox had planned for the clawed mutant moving forward.
Had the Disney/Fox merger not happened (and assuming Dark Phoenix didn't bomb), the next X-Men movie would have likely shifted focus to the 2000s. Given Wolverine's popularity, we'd imagine the idea was to recast the role if not there, then definitely somewhere down the line.
Fortunately, Marvel Studios and Ryan Reynolds managed to convince Jackman to reprise the role for Deadpool & Wolverine. In an interview with People, the actor explained why he walked away from Logan in the first place.
"I had got to the point probably 10 years ago I was like, I'm not enjoying it. It was hurting. It was tough," Jackman admits. "But I've had a break, and I've been doing a lot of dance. I've been doing stage shows. And so...

With Deadpool & Wolverine set to be released in theaters this July, Marvel Comics is getting in on the fun with special variant covers featuring the characters as they'll appear in the MCU.
A special team-up story (set in the comic book Marvel Universe) titled Weapon X-Traction will run as backup tales in eight Marvel titles this summer, with each of those issues boasting movie-themed covers. The story comes our way from writer Ryan North (Fantastic Four) and atrist Javier Garrón (Avengers).
It all kicks off with July's Incredible Hulk #14 and continues through August; while that opening chapter will have a teaser variant cover that uses Garrón’s promotional art for the story, the rest boast pieces made in honour of the upcoming film. They're illustrated by some of the industry’s hottest artists including Steve McNiven, Ryan Stegman, Jorge Molina, Cafu, Declan Shalvey and David Nakayama.

Giancarlo Esposito recently confirmed that he had joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe... but not as the character he's been campaigning to play over the past few months, Charles Xavier.
During Ccxp back in May (via Collider), Esposito revealed that he will be appearing in a Marvel Studios project, but declined to reveal any more details. The actor did say that we'd find out "sooner rather than later," and the role is "better than you can imagine."
There was some speculation that Esposito might show up in the cameo-filled Deadpool and Wolverine, but according to Mttsh, he will be making his MCU debut in an upcoming Disney+ series.
Does this narrow down the character possibilities? Not really, since we have Agatha All Along, Ironheart, Daredevil: Born Again, and the recently announced Vision series all on the horizon, as well as more Marvel Spotlight presentations such as Wonder Man.

Deadpool & Wolverine will finally bring the Merc with the Mouth and Logan together, and while we're expecting heaps of cameos, there's one we know many of you are eager to see on screen this July.
In case it wasn't already obvious, we're talking about The Hulk. Wolverine debuted in the pages of The Incredible Hulk #180 for an unforgettable clash with the Jade Giant, and Marvel Studios now has the opportunity to recreate that somewhere in the Multiverse.
Offering us an idea of what it might look like is a new fan poster which sees Wolverine and The Hulk in the thick of battle.
As much as we'd love to see this in Deadpool & Wolverine, we wouldn't be surprised if Marvel Studios is saving this for Avengers: Secret Wars. Then again, with The Hulk brought to life with VFX, it might be easy enough to insert the Green Goliath into Wade Wilson and Logan's team-up.
