- In 1998 she appeared in the memorable "Go Baby Go" commercials, promoting horse racing for the National Thoroughbred Racing Association. Many thought the ads attention-grabbing and effective, but wealthy and powerful members of the association viewed the ads with disdain, deriding Petty as looking like a strung-out malnourished Lesbian, not the image they wanted to associate with their sport. The Petty ads were quickly dropped in favor of ads featuring Rip Torn.
